Following the unfortunate stillbirth, and legal actions sought by a teacher from Tyoda Secondary School in Kathmandu: the government agency named Education and Human Resource Development Centre has issued a circular to all ordinate agencies to guarantee upto 98 days of paid maternity leave for female staff members who are expecting the newborn(s).
The circular reminds the institutions of the legal provisions and reinforces that the provision applies to all institutions within the nation. Though the government agencies can be in the position of provisioning such welfarism, the private schools and other private institutions could struggle for making it happen.
