Ma sikdai chhu (I am learning) – Radio Learning Project is a recent approach among many approaches offered by many government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders to offer learning opportunitiesto school children of Nepal during the COVID19 crisis.
This radio learning project has been made successful upon partnership between The British Council, Cambridge University Press, Katha Express, Meeting Point, Teach for Nepal (TFN), My Emotions Matter, Radio Audio 106.3 MHz Kathmandu, Record House Productions and scores of radio stations across 7 districts of Nepal. The project also has facebook page, and the programmes are expected to be put in the facebook page.
The radio programme is based on the school curriculum, especially English, Maths and Science, and focuses on developing the basic understanding and knowledge of the subjects in secondary level students. It is a 30-minute radio programme that will be broadcasted for eight weeks with a total of 40 episodes for its Phase One. The programme contents are produced by TFN fellows and will be on-air in seven districts starting from 20 July.
